About
Atlas Dearborn (they/them/theirs) is a queer, trans, and disabled artist born in Stockton, CA, practicing in the northern region of Humboldt County. They graduated from Cal Poly Humboldt in Spring 2025 where they received their Bachelor of Arts in Art Education and Studio Art alongside a minor in Art History. Currently, Atlas is completing a Credential Program in order to receive their preliminary Single Subject in Art teaching credential by Spring 2026.
Atlas is an art educator. Their artistic practice focuses on metalsmithing, illustration, and practically everything else that exists. They hope to teach jewelry classes one day, but currently focusing on learning how to be an excellent and responsive art teacher while student-teaching 9th-12th grade visual arts.
They have had their work featured in a multitude of exhibitions, both local and country-wide. Atlas’s work focuses on exploring themes from childhood in combination with applying medium-specific techniques and the elements of art in order to create deeply personal compositions. Their work is a self-portrait of lived experiences in hopes of finding connections with others to communicate shared themes and moments.
